The pleasure of sport in a unique natural environment

The geographical location of Golf Lleida & Country Club makes it a privileged golf club. It is located just 11 kilometers from Lleida, in the area of Finca Vallfonda, in the municipality of Raimat, a land known throughout the world for its excellent wines and cavas, and near the dividing strip between Catalonia and Aragon, surrounded by an unbeatable natural environment. Balanced between forests of oaks and pines, vineyards and fruit trees, with gentle hills and groves, with reservoirs that provide assured and unlimited water resources, and surrounded by the best residential area of the city of Lleida, we have excellent views, not only of Lleida city and the orchard that surrounds it, but also the impressive Aragonese plains and the pre-Pyrenees-Catalan and Aragonese.

The origins of the lands

At the beginning of the 20th century, Manuel Raventós Doménech acquired a farm of 3,000 hectares of arid, desert and saline land. The estate was characterized by having a tree and an Arab castle with a stone shield dated 1627, with a bunch of grapes and a hand. The arrival of water with the Aragon and Catalonia canal in 1910 and human effort made what is now Raimat possible, turning that desert land into a fertile land, known throughout the world for its wines and cavas.

The history of the Entity

In 1992, the Raventós Espona family decided to promote Raimat Golf Club as the beginning of a sports and residential complex. This was a decisive event that marked a before and after in the history of this sport in Lleida, since until that moment there was no other golf course within a radius of 100 kilometers, Lleida being a city with an important group of golfers who practiced in cultivated fields and played nomadically on other fields.
The field was designed by the Pepín Rivero architecture studio, which created a flexible field, with very wide fairways where all the clubs in the bag can be used, and always with the utmost respect for the natural environment, even marking “hazard” zones inside as protected natural areas.
In April 1994 the first 9 holes were inaugurated.
The second phase of the course, that is , the culmination of the current 18 holes, was developed by a team from the Higher Technical School of Agrarian Engineering of Lleida in 2000, and was officially inaugurated by the Most Illustrious Mayor of Lleida, Antoni Siurana y Zaragoza, on June 15, 2002. .

In 2023 it becomes a privately managed entity and is renamed Golf Lleida & Country Club.

The course

The Golf Lleida & Country Club has a length of 6,195 meters from its white bars with an S.S.S. of 72. The field is distributed on two levels. On the plain next to the Club House we find holes 1 to 5, and the rest, from 6 to 18, run in the same valley. Hole No. 6, a par 3 of 158 meters, is especially spectacular, with a difference in level from tee to green of 50 meters.
It is a very interesting course for medium handicaps, adapted by dropping areas for beginners and requiring maximum concentration on some holes, since without being difficult you have to develop all your strategic skills. It also offers the Course Captain the possibility of, according to needs and by placing the flags, tees and sega the width of the fairways, convert it into an easy or very difficult course.
In addition, the course has a spectacular Club House, equipped with the most current and modern services, such as the bar-restaurant-terrace, changing rooms, parking for buggies, a golf shop, a trophy room, meeting rooms, the secretariat and administration of the Club, club room and others.
